British Airways has announced that Bangalore will be the first destination in India for its new Airbus A350-1000. Bangalore will be the fourth worldwide destination for the BA’s A350 – the airline’s launch destination for the type will be to Madrid.
The A350 service to Bangalore will begin on 1 January 2020 and as currently scheduled will be the first A350-1000 service to India. The airline will operate a Boeing 787-9 from 27 October to 31 December 2019.
The airline’s A350 features the new business class “Club Suite” with enclosed business class suites. The A350 will replace the existing 777-200 service.

The A350 represents a large upgrade in both capacity as well as product for Bangalore. With Bangalore being a premium heavy destination the A350 will allow the airline to offer eight more seats daily in business class and 32 more seats in premium economy which is more than double the current offering.

By comparison German carrier Lufthansa offers 80 business class seats daily on it’s Boeing 747-8i service to Bangalore.
