Last week a Boeing 747-400 of KLM hit a cargo loader while being towed to a bay at Amsterdam’s Schipol airport. The aircraft hit an unattended cargo loader with it’s number four (outer right hand) engine. The engine appeared in photos to have sustained substantial damage.
The aircraft has been identified as PH-BFN a 25 year old Boeing 747-400 having been delivered to KLM in March 1993. The aircraft has been involved in a few incidents in the past – in 2006 an accident with a push back tractor caused severe damage to the underbelly of the aircraft and in 2014 the aircraft went off the runway at Amsterdam airport.
The plane appears to have been repaired and returned to service on 19th October operating a flight from Amsterdam to Chicago.
