Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it is said. In a virtual duplication of the IndiGo Early programme, India’s largest private airline Jet Airways, in a hat-tip to India’s largest domestic airline, IndiGo, has introduced JetAdvance.
Under this scheme, passengers who report to the airport early, can choose to travel by an earlier flight by paying Rs 1,000 per passenger, per flight. This is subject to seat availability on the earlier flight. JetAdvance is available for flights departing up to four hours before the original scheduled departure. The passenger has to be physically present at the airport to manage the booking and process and pay for the change at the check-in counter.
We at Bangalore Aviation are rather surprised other airlines in India have not caught up to this win-win initiative. Airlines sell an otherwise empty seat, and passengers get a chance to get home early. One only prays that Air India, SpiceJet, GoAir, AirAsia India, Vistara and others are listening.
This is very good & long overdue. Result of competition.
