As analysed by Bangalore Aviation last week, Kingfisher Airlines formally announced the commencement of daily flights on the New Delhi – London route from the start of the summer 2010 schedule i.e. March 28.
The schedule is designed to take fullest advantage of the fact that today Kingfisher operates its highest number of flights from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The upcoming Terminal 3 will be one of the largest in the world and will allow Kingfisher to further leverage connectivity between its international and domestic flights at Delhi.
We in Bangalore do however feel sad and nostalgic about the flight number. IT001 and IT002 which used designate the Bangalore London Heathrow flights have now been re-assigned to the Delhi London flight.
Flight IT001 departs Delhi 13:20 and arrives London Heathrow T4 18:10.
Flight IT002 departs London Heathrow 21:05 and arrives New Delhi 10:20 next day.
Kingfisher will operate the route with its Airbus A330-223, considered of the most comfortable in the world, in a two class configuration. 30 in Kingfisher First with full flat seats and seat pitch of 78 inches, and 187 in Economy with 34 inch seat pitch.
