A330neo to use A350’s cockpit mask – Bangalore Aviation

A330neo to use A350’s cockpit mask

Ahead of the Dubai airshow, Airbus has announced that it will use the A350’s distinctive cockpit windscreen design on the A330neo.

Eric Zanin, Head of A330 programme, Airbus

“The A330neo complement the A350 XWB in the new Airbus Long-Range family, so it was only natural that the A330neo should have the same cockpit shades design than its larger sibling”

The re-engined A330neo will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and will share a common type rating with the A350. It is scheduled to enter service in the last quarter of 2017.

Airbus’s order book for the A330neo stands at a 145 aircraft – 135 A330-900’s and 10 A330-800’s.

  1. That cockpit mask looks disgusting. Spoils the look of an entire aircraft. I loved the initial renders that had a cockpit similar to the older A330 series.
