Low cost carrier Wizz Air, the largest in eastern and central Europe, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 110 aircraft, the biggest single order of the A321neo, the longest version of the Airbus A320 Family aircraft at the Le Bourget International Paris Air Show.
The aircraft will be in the new ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex) configuration which seats 239 passengers.
Currently Wizz Air has a fleet of 61 aircraft which perform 380 routes from 22 base airports. The deal was signed by Jozsef Varadi, CEO of Wizz Air and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers.
No details about the order?
Other sources quote 200 A321neo to be delivered between 2019 and 2024
This is an MOU. The order with all the details is still to be signed.
If there are no details, how do they know it’s the largest?
My apologies. The number was in the headline of the press release but not in the body. Have added it now.
