Scoot’s Leslie Thng slated to succeed Phee Teik Yeoh as Vistara CEO

TATA SIA Airlines Limited (Vistara) have named Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer Leslie Thng to succeed Phee Teik Yeoh as Chief Executive Officer for Vistara, from October 2017.

Phee Teik Yeoh who has been with Vistara since its inception, will return to his parent, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and will be given a a senior appointment. Thng, a lifelong Singapore Airlines man, was the CEO of SIA’s regional subsidiary Silkair before assuming his role at CCO for Budget Aviation Holdings, the holding company of SIA’s low cost carriers TigerAir and Scoot.

Curiously, Vistara will have two leaders with a strong LCC background. Sanjiv Kapoor is ex-Spicejet.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Phee Teik from his days as Singapore Airlines’ Station Head at Los Angeles over 20 years ago. All my colleagues at Bangalore Aviation join me in wishing him all the best in the future.

You can read an interview Shahkar Abidi of DNA conducted with Leslie Thng last year here.
