The Tata Singapore Airlines joint venture Vistara operated the inaugural flight of their brand new Airbus A320neo from New Delhi to Bangalore yesterday morning as flight UK811.
The aircraft registered VT-TNB features slight changes in the livery including the Vistara star and A320neo branding on the belly, and a banner along the upper fuselage. Like national carrier Air India, Vistara’s A320neo is powered by the CFM LEAP engine. The LEAP engine uses a more conventional design, and is therefore a little noisier than the Pratt & Whittney PW1100 Geared Turbo Fan which powers the A320neos of IndiGo and Go Air.
Vistara revised its cabin configuration last year to increase economy class seats. (Read the article). Vistara continues the same revised three class cabin configuration with 158 seats. Eight in business class, 24 in premium economy and 126 economy class. This is a change from the 16 business, 36 premium economy and 96 economy class configuration the airline started out with.
