Seattle based US carrier Alaska Airlines has announced new inbound and outbound flights to its ‘focus city’ San Diego. For this year’s ski-season, the airline will introduce daily non-stop flights from San Diego to popular skiing and holiday destination Steamboat Springs in Colorado. The city is famous for its Champagne Powder viewing that invites tourists from around the country and the world as well.

If this will launch for the holiday season, Alaska Airlines has added more domestic routes connecting San Diego with San Jose and Orange County/San Ana. As it looks to bolster its stand in the state, the new routes will be operated by Brazilian aircraft manufacturer’s Embraer-175 aircraft. The aircraft has the same cabin space as a mainline jet with a total of 76 seats – 12 each in first class and premium, 52 in the main cabin.

A few days ago, the airline also became the first to operate a commercial aircraft with biof-uel, the first aviation bio-fuel to be certified and approved since 2011.
