Air India commences direct New Delhi Vijayawada flights

National carrier Air India will introduce a daily direct daily service between New Delhi and Vijayawada from tomorrow, January 15, 2015 which will be the second service on the route. Presently the carrier flies on a one-stop flight via Hyderabad.

The new flight AI459 departs New Delhi at 06:20 and arrives Vijayawada at 08:25
The return flight AI460 departs Vijayawada at 09:00 and arrive New Delhi at 11:05

The carrier has scheduled the flight to connect with its international services to Bangkok, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Kathmandu, London Heathrow, Sydney and Melbourne, Paris, and Rome and Milan.

Vijayawada has assumed great significance in recent times as it, or a new city to be built close to it, is expected to become the new capital of recently bifurcated Andhra Pradesh state once the ten year period for Hyderabad to be used as a joint capital with Telengana elapses.
