Xiamen Airlines recieves its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner

Fujian province based, Chinese carrier, Xiamen Airlines took delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, becoming the third Chinese airline to operate the new generation aircraft. This is part of a six Dreamliner aircraft order.

Xiamen Airlines, which was the first joint venture between the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and a municipal government, way back in 1984, started operations in 1985 with a fleet of two Boeing 737-200s serving three cities in the country. Today it is the sixth largest airline in China with 218 domestic routes and 26 international routes. The airline remains with an all Boeing fleet, the only carrier in China to do so.

The airline will use the 787 on long-haul routes to Europe, North America and Australia.

Boeing is providing a comprehensive suite of services to Xiamen Airlines to support the induction of the new 787.
