Bangalore Airport will shut down on three nights to re-carpet runway

Bengaluru International Airport will shut down its single runway 09-27 on four nights in May to take-up urgently needed re-carpeting work.

Authoritative sources at the airport, inform Bangalore Aviation, the runway will shut down from 23:30 to 05:30 the next morning (18:00 to 00:00 Z). The closures will commence on the nights of 9, 11, 16, and 18 May local.

This will result in significant disruption of international flight schedules of Air France, Lufthansa, British Airways, Thai Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Air Arabia, Emirates, Dragonair, Qatar Airways, Tiger Airways, amongst others.

Passengers travelling late night of 9, 11, 16, and 18 May or early morning 10, 12, 17, or 19 May, are advised to please check with your airline.

While negotiating alternates, passengers should be aware, this runway closure was announced to the airlines almost a month ago.
