Vietnam Airlines is due to become the first Asian airline and second carrier globally, after launch customer Qatar Airways to operate the Airbus A350 XWB.
The first of the airline’s 14 ordered A350-900 completed its first flight in Toulouse, France yesterday. Vietnam Airlines has a very recognisable blue and gold livery which looks good on the new aircraft.
The aircraft will now go for cabin completion and the ground and flight tests prior to delivery via leasing company AerCap, expected next month. Vietnam Airlines will operate the new aircraft on flights from its capital Hanoi to former colonial occupier France’s capital, Paris.
Will A350-900 eat the share of A380 ?
A380 and A350 are not comparable. Can A350-900 eat in to 777s and 787s? Yes, possible.
